At Sincere Sheep, we believe that beautiful yarn and sustainable farms are natural partners. Each skein of our yarn bears the name of the sheep that grew the wool and the farm it lives on. The sheep are raised by people who care about their flocks and the impact they are making on the earth. Our dyes come from natural sources as well – plants, insects, and minerals. Naturally grown, naturally dyed, skein by skein.

We are friends with the farmers we work with and know the sheep in their flocks on a first-name basis. When Reba, the merino cross, is shorn, we follow her fleece through the entire process of washing, carding and spinning at Yolo Wool Mill in Woodland, CA. Some fleeces are left their natural colors, others are dyed with cochineal, madder, fustic, and indigo. When a skein of Reba's yarn is offered to you, her name is on the label.

If you take the time to knit something by hand, it's great to know the land it comes from is also loved.
